Background

When Beech Acres Parenting Center was founded in 1849, at its core our purpose was the same then as it is today - helping children grow to become capable, contributing, caring adults. In 1849 we did it by housing children in an institution because so many had lost parents to the cholera epidemic. Over the years, changes in our culture and social issues have influenced the ways in which we have served our community, but the focus on children has always remained the same.

Today

At Beech Acres Parenting Center we believe that all parents want the best for their children and their families.

What We Do

Our organization helps parents see and develop confidence in their strengths and plan positive ways to turn those strengths into skills. We empower parents to guide their children’s discovery and development of their own unique strengths so that they may succeed and thrive.

How We Do It

We provide information, tools, and support so parents can develop their own proactive plans to engage positively in parenting each child, every day.

What Makes Us Unique

Our approach to parenting is positive, comprehensive, proactive, and customized to the unique needs and goals of each family we serve.

Our Intended Outcome

With this proven, intentional approach and our comprehensive range of resources, we expect that the number of families in crisis will decrease, and the number of children, families, and communities that succeed and thrive will grow.
