    New Father

I am the father of a six month old boy, our first.  I continually fail to consider details that put my son at risk.  Some examples, tossing an aspirator to my wife and hitting him in the stomach, putting him down on our bed but not removing the pillows on either side of his head which he could have rolled into.  Has anyone else had issues like this?  If so, how did you overcome them?  If not, how did you keep all of it covered?  I also welcome advice from a parenting coach.  My wife is growing very concerned about my being being alone with our son.

    Re: New Father

I think that many parents feel insecure with their parenting. I admire your courage to seek advice and knowledge. Gaining knowledge and experience will give you more confidence in your parenting choices.Often parenting is a skill that everyone assumes inate, when in fact, many aspects of parenting are learned. Are there any other Dads out there stuggling with these issues?
