By knowing the fears that children are liable to have at specific times in their development, you’ll be able to provide the support they need to manage their anxiety.  Here’s a list of common – and completely normal -- fears:

Infants and Toddlers

  • Loud noises
  • Strangers
  • Separation from caregivers
Preschoolers and Kindergartners

 

  • Ghosts
  • Monsters
  • The dark
  • Sleeping alone
  • Thunder

Elementary Schoolers to Adolescents
