Healthy Living
Introduction
We’re in the middle of an epidemic of inactivity and processed foods, resulting in kids carrying more weight than is healthy for them.
These are complex, interrelated problems. While statistics show an increase in childhood obesity and diabetes, there’s also evidence that weight is not the only factor in being healthy. Activity level correlates to both cardiac health and emotional well-being; maintaining an “ideal” weight by itself is insufficient protection.
A combination of activity and healthy foods is crucial to wellness; weight management is only one leg of the stool.
