Intentional Strength-Based Parenting

Be Intentional

Envision yourself as the parent you want to be:

  • What kind of relationship do you want with your children?
  • In what ways do you want to be an example for them?
  • What experiences would you like to provide them?
  • How do you hope to be remembered by your children?

Create a vision for your child as an adult:

  • What values do you want your child to carry into adulthood?
  • What skills and abilities?
  • How do you hope your child will approach life and relationships?

Working from a vision and being fully present in the flow of day-to-day moments with your children will enable you to grow the best in yourself and your kids.

Using the Parenting Compass, take a few moments to put your hopes for your child into words, creating a mental picture you can begin bringing into reality. Your vision will guide you as you set day-to-day priorities and make decisions.
