Raising Resilient Kids
Introduction
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity -- to minimize or overcome the damage that arises from adversity.
A resilient person gains strength from adversity and uses that strength to move forward. Two important qualities that help in this process include self-esteem and optimism.
While temperament also plays a role, there are many ways parents can help build children’s feelings of capability and sense of optimism about handling challenging situations.
