Understanding Temperaments

Introduction

Temperament refers to a set of in-born traits that determine how a person perceives and responds to the world. Temperamental traits are one of the building blocks of personality, determining how a child navigates through life.

Temperamental traits are a powerful driving force. They’re not learned from parents or books, nor are they easily controlled by will-power.

Temperamental traits are neither “good” nor “bad” – those labels come from how a child perceives them.
